Smoke is a 2 1/2 year old male Peke who came into rescue after his owners found out they had to move overseas. He came into rescue with his brother, Benny. (We think they are better apart.) Smoke weighs about 16 pounds. He is a timid boy, but extremely sweet and will become a loyal companion. Smoke wants someone who will spend time with him and give him some stability, which we think he did not have before. His foster mom said he is house trained, and knows the commands sit, come and down. He interacts well with children and people. He is afraid of men, but he is getting much better. He is lovable, likes to snuggle on the couch and watch TV. He also likes long walks. He doesn't interact with other dogs. He and his foster brother have not connected and Smoke doesn't seem interested in playing with him. He will play with with his foster mom, though, and enjoys ball tosses etc.... When he is around excitable dogs (jumpers, playful), he is upset and needs a calmer place to be.
Smoke is neutered and up to date on shots. He would do well as an only dog.
We adopt in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia and require home and vet checks. Smoke's adoption fee is $300.00.
