Lotus Blossom is a one year old Pekingese who during her short life has already endured quite a difficult journey. She ended up in a kill shelter in Louisiana where they use gas chambers to euthanize their animals. The staff decided to contact various rescue organizations around the country to see if they could help avoid such a horrible end for the surplus of pets being housed at their facility. Even though Louisiana is outside of our core area, we could not turn our backs on this sweet little girl. As luck would have it, a very kind lady offered not only to spring Lotus Blossom from the shelter, but to foster her until she could personally drive her up to Northern Virginia and deliver her safely into our care. So now, here she is ready to start a new chapter in her life.
The lady who fostered her down in Louisiana reported that this little dog was one of the sweetest, most loving pets she has ever rescued and while in her care Lotus Blossom got the royal treatment and was even allowed to sleep on the bed at night. It was actually hard for this seasoned rescuer to give this dog up. I guess what we are saying here is that this precious Pekingese is a special girl who loves everybody and who deserves an opportunity to be loved for the rest of her life.
Lotus Blossom will be spayed prior to adoption and is current on her vaccines. She weighs about 11 pounds and is housebroken.
