Rescuing Pekingese in Need for Over 20 Years

Grant

Grant was brought into rescue with Betsy. (see our Pekes for Adoption Page to view Betsy's Bio) He was kept in a crate in the woods, with moldy food and snakes crawling around. He has bowed legs and has some muscle issues from lack of use, but he is LOVING being able to run around (which he does well) and roll on the grass.  He is  relishing the love and attention and freedom he's getting with his foster family :-) He is eating well, and is doing well with his walking- he even ran a little ways up the hill in the backyard! It's wonderful to see his progress.  He follows his foster mom everywhere when he's not sleeping, and reaches his paw out to let her know he wants attention. He is the sweetest thing... He does well with getting the eye drops and the potty training is going well also. He does not have any issues with marking, just needs to fully understand about going outside. The woman who transported him to his foster home had trouble saying goodbye to this little guy. He leaves an impression on the heart of everyone he meets.

Grant is so eager to please and would love to have his own forever home. Whomever ends up adopting him will be extremely lucky to have found such a special Pekingese.

We adopt in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia and require home and vet checks.  Grant's adoption fee is $250.00.
