Clarence is a two year old male Pekingese who came into rescue on November 30, 2008. When he first arrived, he was suffering from worms, ear, eye and bladder infections and was very thin. However, in spite of all this, from the moment he entered his foster home, he displayed an extremely sweet personality and temperament. He is a very endearing little guy who will certainly make a terrific family pet for the right people.
We had to have Clarence's dew claws removed. He has also undergone eye fold reduction surgery to prevent further damage to his eyes (the folds were rubbing against his eyeballs causing irritation). This cutie pie is now recovering and loving life in his foster home where he is able to play with his foster siblings with whom he get along famously. This boy is also learning how to play with toys. Clarence is neutered and house trained.
If you think you have room in your home to welcome this 16 pound furry bundle of pure sweetness, please fill out an application.
Clarence's adoption fee is $300 and he can be adopted in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Home checks and vet checks are required.
Update 12-8 from Clarence's foster mom: Clarence is doing really well. He loves going for walks which we go on several times a day. The other evening, I went to dinner and left him in the kitchen with the baby gate closed. When I got home he was proudly waiting for me at the front door. I guess the rascal crawled under the gate because he didn't want to be confined. Friday night he slept in his dog bed in my room. Saturday night after I turned off the lights and got into bed he walked around to the far side of the bed. I just waited to see what he would do. Then he walked around to the other side of the bed but didn't go back to his bed so I turned the light on and he was sitting there as if to say: "Aren't you going to let me sleep with you?" So I put him on the bed and he stayed there like a good boy all night. I tried to get him to sleep in his bed again last night but he did the same thing. This little squirt is such a sweetheart. He got lots of TLC this weekend. :-)
