Chelsea came to us from a backyard breeder in North Carolina. She is a small, very sweet and timid girl who we think is about 2-3 years old. She loves to have her head and back scratched. This furry girl is learning how to play with toys and enjoying the rewards of being given treats-probably for the first time in her life.
Chelsea tested positive for heartworms, but has completely her treatment and is heartworm free. She is a very nice dog who enjoys being around other canines and displays a sweet temperament. Given her background and lack of human interaction, we are certain that with a little time, she will grow more confident and become a happy, well socialized dog. She eats like a champ and walks on a leash very well now. She loves to be touched and held but is still a little scared at some things. She gets along well with other dogs and is pretty well with children who know how to be around dogs. She will get more comfortable with a forever family. This little girl just wants to be loved and safe! She is 12.5 pounds now and looking very healthy. Chelsea is doing well on housetraining. She can go all night without an accident. She also has begun to eat well and has a happy pep in her step when she walks. She loves to go for walks now and does very well on a leash/harness.
